Here’s a track from The Field’s new album. A remix of the 80′s classic ‘Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime’ by The Korgis.

Night Fit

This may or may not be my last post before plunging into the depths of internship. Thought the night time, lonely drive mood of this new track from Tiga sufficiently encapsulated my (growing) apprehensions. Plus, it’s slick — produced by none other than James Murphy at DFA studios. Will be calling everyone soon with convincing arguments along the lines of, “there is no way I can be as good of a doctor as I want to be.” My apologies in advance.

What could be more perfect for summer than Turkish psychedelic jazz? This track comes from Okay Temiz, a legendary Turkish percussionist(pictured). Break out your hookah and velvet.

Brewer's Hill
Finally figured out how to ape Kilo’s publishing techniques, if not his inimitable style. This is the first track on the new Moderat (Modeselektor and Apparat) album. The slow, modular progression and melancholy tone served me well in my final days driving around B’more. Not to cheesily project, but to me there’s something in this song suggestive of both closures and, as the title suggests, beginnings.

This light disco Harvey remix of a Tommy Guerrero track seemed to fit the rainy nyc mood. A bit of trivia for yas – Mr. Guerrero is a retired pro skateboarder turned bassist/guitarist who was a member of the original Bones Brigade.

Hope life is good for all the cats prowling this great landmass.
